RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team wrapped up Great American Conference play on Thursday with a three-set loss on the road to league-leading Arkansas Tech.
Final game scores were 25-15, 25-18 and 25-20. With the loss, UAM falls to 14-14 overall and 5-9 in GAC matches. Arkansas Tech improves to 26-5 overall and 13-1 in conference.
As a team, UAM totaled 29 kills and 19 errors on 119 swings for a .084 percentage. Tech countered with 48 kills and 16 errors on 131 swings for a .244 percentage.
Junior Sydni Schulz led the Blossoms with her eighth double-digit kill performance of the season. She had 11 kills and four errors on 27 swings for a .259 percentage, and added eight digs on defense to her final totals. Senior Jessica Cuba chipped in with seven kills and no errors on 26 swings for a .269 percentage. Cuba also had eight digs in the loss
Junior Lani Kaiwi paced the Blossoms' back row with 14 digs, her 20th match of the season with at least 10. Senior Tasha Evans accounted for just over half of UAM's eight blocks in the loss with two block solos and five block assists.
The Blossoms wrap up the regular season on Monday, November 10 on the road against Mississippi Valley State.
