Box Score (HTML)

ARKADELPHIA, Arkansas –
The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's basketball team was held without a made field goal for nearly eight of the final 10 minutes of the game en route to a 63-51 road loss to Henderson State on Thursday night.

UAM (2-3, 0-3 Great American Conference) led for the majority of the game's first six minutes, but the Reddies (4-3, 2-1 GAC) gained the lead for the final time with 11:36 remaining in the first half. HSU led by as much as seven points in the first half and grew its lead to double-digits at the midway point of the second half.

Early in the second half, the Weevils cut its deficit to three points on steal and fast-break dunk from senior Sharif Hudson. That was as close as the Weevils came for the remainder of the game.

Henderson State held UAM's leading scorer Sharif Hudson to single digits for the first time this season. Hudson connected on just three of 13 shots on the night, and was 0-for-4 on three-pointers. However, Hudson tied junior Korbin McClain for the team-high in rebounds with seven each.

Junior Jamal Peterson was UAM's only double-digit scorer with 12 points. Senior Cameron Blue added nine points and five boards in 19 minutes of action.

As a team, UAM shot a season-low 32 percent from the field (17-for-53). HSU finished at 45 percent (25-for-56).

HSU's Kelvin Dixon led all scorers with 16 points in 26 minutes off the bench. Reggie Murphy and Kevin Kozan added 15 and 11 points, respectively.

The Weevils are back in action on Saturday at home against Harding. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. at Steelman Field House.
