WEATHERFORD, Okla. –
Senior Brandon Wilson recorded a double-double of 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead the University of Arkansas at Monticello men's basketball team past Southwestern Oklahoma State at the newly-opened Pioneer Cellular Event Center by a final score of 68-52.

The 16-point win is UAM's largest victory of the season against Great American Conference opponents, and saddles SWOSU with just its third conference loss of the year.

The Weevils (15-6, 8-5 GAC) separated themselves from the Bulldogs (12-6, 9-3 GAC) midway through the first half, using a 7-0 run to grab an 11-point lead on a jumper in the paint from senior Jared Harrison at the 9:33 mark.

UAM maintained its double-digit lead throughout the remainder of the contest. The Bulldogs came as close as 10 points on a pair of free throws from Rod Camphor at the 5:17 mark of the second half to trim UAM's lead to 54-44.

The Weevils held their largest lead of 19 points with 3:14 remaining in regulation.

UAM finished the game shooting 47 percent from the field (26-for-55), 36 percent on three-pointers (4-for-11) and 60 percent on foul shots (12-for-20). SWOSU was limited to 30 percent from field (17-for-56) and 10 percent on three-pointers (1-for-10).

Camphor led the Bulldogs with 15 points.

The Weevils are back in action Thursday, February 6 on the road against Southeastern Oklahoma State. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. in Durant, Okla.
