MONTICELLO – Southeastern Oklahoma State completed a three-game Great American Conference sweep over the University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team by defeating the Blossoms twice on Saturday in Monticello by scores of 4-2 and 18-3.

UAM (22-20, 13-16 GAC) opened the scoring with a line drive homerun over the center field fence from sophomore Kali Piha in the bottom of the second inning. Senior Channing Tharpe gave UAM its second and final run on a solo homerun to right center in the bottom of the seventh.
Junior Katie Slaughter (11-10) took the loss after giving up four runs off seven hits with three strikeouts and four walks in 5.2 innings of work. Mindy McElroy (14-4) earned the win for Southeastern and Jacee Bennett picked up her sixth save of the year by inducing a popup for the final out of the game with the potential tying run at bat.
