RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas — The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team opened a stretch of three matches in two days with a four-set loss to Great American Conference leader Arkansas Tech on Friday on the road.
Final game scores were 18-25, 11-25, 25-20 and 20-25. The Blossoms (6-6, 1-4 GAC) continue their busy weekend on Saturday with a tri-match in Jolin, Missouri, taking on Washburn at 3 p.m. and tri-match host Missouri Southern at 5 p.m. Live stats for both matches will be available at

Senior Sydni Schulz led the Blossoms in Friday's loss to Arkansas Tech (11-5, 5-0 GAC) with her fourth double-double of the season. She led both teams in the kills category with 15, while also posting 13 digs on the back row. It was the 10th kills-digs double-double for Schulz's UAM career.
Junior Carolina Gasparini followed with 11 kills. Senior Kaila Kikugawa posted a career-high 20 digs in the loss. She led all players in the match in that category. Junior Alissya Theis posted 34 assists, the third time this season she has had at least 30.
As a team, UAM posted 45 kills and 23 errors on 145 swings for a .154 percentage, while the Golden Suns hit .266 with 52 kills and 15 errors on 139 swings.
