PATTON SHINES IN FINALE, @UAMHOOPS FALLS TO TECH

University of Arkansas at Monticello men's basketball senior D'Audrio Patton scored a season-high 21 points in his final collegiate contest to lead the Weevils in an 83-76 loss to Arkansas Tech at home on Saturday in final game of the 2014-15 season.

Patton finished the game 9-for-17 from the field, while also grabbing eight rebounds. It was his second 20-point effort of the season and third of his career. Saturday's game also marked the final collegiate games for seniors Sharif Hudson and Eli Alexander.

In the first half of Saturday's game, there were seven tie scores and eight lead changes, with neither team leading by more than five points. Tech reached its largest lead of the opening period with a 5-0 run to end the half to hold a 42-37 lead at the break.

In the second half, the Wonder Boys jumped out to a double-digit lead before the first media timeout, but UAM responded with a 9-0 run to trim its deficit to one points at the 14:51 mark on a three-pointer by junior Richard Benedyth.

Four minutes later, UAM forced the eight tie score of the game and took its first lead of the half on three-point play from Patton. Tech got the lead back for good two possessions later and ran out to as much as a 12-point lead with 3:15 remaining.

The Weevils cut it to five on a fast break layup from junior Korbin McClain with 1:06 remaining, but the Wonder Boys answered with a dunk on the other end to end the threat.

UAM finished the game 43 percent from the field (31-for-73). In addition to Patton's season-high point total, junior Jamal Peterson chipped in with 17 points and six assists. McClain added 13 points off the bench, and Benedyth finished with 10 points.

The Wonder Boys shot right at 50 percent from the field (29-for-58). Tech placed five scorers in double-figures, led by D.J. Jethroe with 18 points.
