PINE BLUFF, Arkansas — The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team broke the program's match record for hitting with a .438 percentage a three-set victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Tuesday night.
Final game scores were 25-16, 25-10 and 25-17. The Blossoms improve to 3-2 after splitting four matches over the past weekend to open the season. UAPB drops to 0-7.
UAM finished the match with 35 kills and seven errors on 64 swings for.438 hitting percentage. Tuesday's performance broke the school's record of a .436 percentage in a win over Philander Smith during the 2008 season.
Junior Carolina Gasparini led the team with eight kills, followed by sophomore Aubrey Harrison with seven and juniors Dianna Etienne and Kedra Johnson with six each.
The Blossoms are back in action next Tuesday, September 15 at Ouachita Baptist for the first Great American Conference match of the 2015 season.
