@UAMWBB KNOCKS OFF SOUTHEASTERN ON THE ROAD

Durant, Okla. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's basketball team secured the road victory over Great American Conference opponent Southeastern Oklahoma State by a final score of 48-41.

Arkansas-Monticello (8-9, 5-8 GAC) held the number four team in the GAC, Southeastern Oklahoma State (10-7, 8-5 GAC) to a season-low 41 points in this match-up as UAM's defense helped power the visiting Blossoms over the Savage Storm Saturday afternoon. UAM got out in front of SOSU in the first quarter in this game and never looked back and the Blossoms would not trail for the remainder of the contest, leading to a 48-41 win.

Offensively the Blossoms were led by sophomore Ayesha Wahid with 15 points, shooting 5-for-7 in the match-up. Wahid also finished the game with two steals, and two rebounds as well. 

Junior Treasure Evans provided a big day for UAM, recording her second double-double of the year with 11 points and a career-high 14 rebounds in a Blossom uniform. 

Final team statistics for Arkansas-Monticello included shooting 31 percent (17-for-55) from the field, 27 percent (3-for-11) on three's, and 79 percent (11-for-14) on foul shots. SOSU finished the day shooting 25 percent (13-for-52) overall, 0 percent on treys (0-for-13), and 83 percent (15-for-18) from the free throw line. 

UAM will return to action next on Thursday, February 2 as the Blossoms will host the Rangers of Northwestern Oklahoma State in a GAC match-up with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m.
