MONTICELLO -  The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team was taken down by the Bison of Oklahoma Baptist Saturday afternoon inside Steelman Field House by a final score of 3-0. 

• Final set scores from the match were 24-26, 14-25, and 20-25 in favor of Oklahoma Baptist. 
• The Blossoms drop to 7-14 (1-8 GAC) overall this season
• OBU improves to 13-9 (8-1 GAC) in 2017 this year. 

• Set number one featured each team fighting for any advantage with multiple lead changes midway through the set, as UAM held a 13-12 lead over the Bison. 
• OBU generated small runs late in the match-up and ultimately was able to record back-to-back kills and take the set at 26-24.  
  
   

  

• Oklahoma Baptist controlled the second set of play from the beginning, jumping out to a 10-3 lead over UAM early in the contest. 
• OBU closed out the set with a 7-3 run, and claimed set two over the Blossoms 25-14, along with taking a 2-0 match lead. 
   

• UAM came out firing in set number three, putting together a 5-0 run over OBU, with help from three kills by Vanessa Pawlak, and multiple Bison errors. 
• The momentum of the set faded for Arkansas-Monticello unfortunately as Oklahoma Baptist created small runs to pull ahead of the Blossoms and take the set at 25-20, and the match at 3-0. 
   

• Senior Vanessa Pawlak led the UAM offense on the day with 10 total kills on 22 total attempts, and recorded a .318 hitting percentage.
• Toryn Cox led the Blossoms with 20 total assists in the contest. 
• Macy Mitchell totaled over 20 digs in a contest for the third straight match, with 27 on the afternoon.
  
  
   

• The Blossoms return to the court next on Tuesday, October 17 as UAM will face Crowley's Ridge and Williams Baptist in Paragould, Arkansas at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. respectively.
