STILLWATER, Okla. —
 The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's basketball team started off the 2017-18 season Friday evening with an 85-65 exhibition loss against Oklahoma State University on the road in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

  • Derylton Hill:  17 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals

  • UAM surged ahead to begin this match-up to a 16-8 lead over the Cowboys after a three-pointer by Jarred Heard gave the Weevils the advantage.
  • With 8:32 left in the opening half, Oklahoma State claimed the lead and would not trail Arkansas-Monticello for the remainder of the game. 
  • Cobe Goosby knocked down a jumper with just seconds left on the clock in the first half of play to see UAM only trail by seven points against its Big 12 foe.

  • Arkansas-Monticello closed the gap at seven points with 14:12 left in the ballgame, but OSU would then jump out ahead to build a comfortable lead throughout the rest of the half. 
  • Oklahoma State saw its biggest lead of the match-up with just over two minutes remaining at 83-59, and ultimately won the exhibition over the Weevils, 85-65.

  • The Weevils will officially begin the 2017-18 season next Friday, November 10 against non-conference opponent Concordia University-St. Paul in Russellville, Arkansas with tip-off at 5:00 p.m.
