@UAMWBB DEFEATED BY SOUTHEASTERN AT HOME

MONTICELLO — The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's basketball team was taken down by GAC adversary Southeastern Oklahoma State Thursday evening, by a final score of 51-45.

  • Arkansas-Monticello drops to 4-3 (1-2 GAC) on the season.
  • Southeastern improves to 4-2 (2-1 GAC) overall on the year.

  • Chari Swift:  12 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block
  • Charlynn Perry:  7 points, 3 steals
  • Briana Hayles:  7 points, 3 rebounds
  • Brittnee Broadway:  7 points, 5 assists

  • UAM began this contest against Southeastern with a back-and-forth scoring battle, but managed to pull together a small lead by the opening quarter's end at 15-13, after the and-one layup conversion from Briana Hayles. 
  • Arkansas-Monticello would continue to control the tempo of this game in the following quarter, as the Blossoms held a lead for its' entirety with a halftime score of 23-21 in the home squad's favor. 
  • Chari Swift totaled eight points in the opening half to help anchor the UAM offense, and Charlynn Perry adding six points of her own.

  • The second half was closely contested as well between these two programs, but the Savage Storm jumped out to a six point lead with back-to-back three pointers, putting the score at 35-29 in favor of SOSU. 
  • The Blossoms only managed to hold the lead in this ballgame once more early in the fourth quarter after Hayles knocked down a jumper, giving UAM the advantage at 36-35. 
  • Southeastern then claimed the lead on the very next possession, and would not trail for the remainder of the contest, winning this game at 51-45 by the final buzzer.

  • The Blossoms will take on East Central in a GAC match-up this Saturday, December 2 in Monticello, Arkansas with tip-off slated for 1:00 p.m. inside Steelman Field House
