@UAMSOFTBALL TO FACE RIVAL SOUTHERN ARKANSAS IN MAGNOLIA

MONTICELLO — The University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team will take on Great American Conference opponent #8 Southern Arkansas in a doubleheader in Magnolia, Arkansas with game one set to start at 4 p.m.

Head Coach Alvy Early is also just four wins away from breaking the Arkansas all-time collegiate wins record for the state which currently stands at 1,161 victories. Early has accumulated 1,158 total wins during his time at UAM while coaching softball, and women's basketball.

The Blossoms (24-10, 17-5 GAC) enter this week after finishing with a 4-0 record last weekend, sweeping the Reddies of Henderson State at home, and currently stand at third overall in the GAC.

SCOUTING #8 SOUTHERN ARKANSAS
The Muleriders currently stand at second overall in the GAC and are ranked eighth overall in the nation. SAU is coming off series sweep against Ouachita at home as well. Leading the Southern Arkansas offense is Maddie Dow with a batting average of .424 on the year. Brooke Goad (.423) and Jill Roye (.419) are each hitting over .400 this season as well for the Muleriders. Dow is the programs overall offensive producer leading in runs scored (46), runs batted in (49), home runs (18), and slugging percentage (1.061). In the circle for SAU, they are led by Victoria Taylor and Kaylee Garner with 13 wins each. Taylor holds down a 1.71 earned run average, and leads the club in strikeouts with 121.
