@UAMHOOPS WINS BIG AGAINST HARDING AT HOME

MONTICELLO — The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's basketball team beat the Bisons of Harding Saturday afternoon by a final score of 90-62.

  • This GAC match-up was closely contested throughout the opening first half of play as HU and UAM were knotted up at 16-16 with 13 minutes left to play.
  • Arkansas-Monticello began to catch fire and jumped out to a double-digit lead after a layup from Troy Thomas to put the UAM advantage at 26-16 overall. 
  • The Weevils closed out the half with a Hill layup with just seven seconds left on the clock to put the home lead out to 43-33.

  • UAM began to dominate in this contest in the second half, as a Mawuenyega layup with just over 17 minutes remaining gave the Weevils a double-digit, which they would hold for the remainder of the half. 
  • Arkansas-Monticello capped off this game after a Thomas alley-oop dunk pushed the home advantage out to 26 points with under five minutes to go. 
  • The Weevils took the victory over Harding at 90-62 by the final buzzer, with the help of shooting 54 percent from the floor, and forcing the Bisons to commit 23 total turnovers.
