MONTICELLO — The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's basketball team was defeated by Harding University Saturday afternoon at home, 70-53.
 

• UAM drops to 5-10 (1-9 GAC) overall.
• Harding will improve to 7-12 (3-8) on the year. 
  
   

• Mackenzie Johnson — 12 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block
• Brittnee Broadway — 11 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists
• Whitney O'Dell — 9 points, 3 rebounds
  
   

• This match-up began with a back-and-forth scoring battle between the two programs, as Harding took the early 13-11 lead by the opening quarter's end. 
• UAM began to swing the momentum to it's favor after back-to-back made three-pointers from O'Dell that saw the Blossoms hold a 17-13 advantage over the Bisons.
• However HU would generate a run of it's own down the stretch to close out the first half, with a made three that saw the visitors up 29-26. 
   

• Harding started the second half of play with a 13-1 run against UAM, which pushed the lead out to double-digits at 39-27. HU continued to surge ahead, holding the 52-33 advantage heading into the fourth quarter. 
• The Bisons went on to close out this contest in the fourth period, leading in double-digits throughout its remainder to take the win at 70-53 over UAM.
• Harding went on to shoot 63 percent overall from the field in the second half, compared to that of UAM's 32 percent. 
  
   

• Arkansas-Monticello will be in action next on Tuesday, January 23 against GAC rival Southern Arkansas in Magnolia with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
