MONTICELLO, Ark. – The UAM Blossoms (4-22, 2-9) picked up their second straight win with a 3-0 thumping of conference foe East Central University (0-23, 0-11) on Saturday.

Back-and-forth action defined most of the first set of the match. The teams eventually played their way to tie at 20, but UAM turned in a 5-1 run to close out the match.

The second stanza saw UAM lead by as many as seven points as the Blossoms coasted in for a 25-15 victory and putting the win in sight.

The third frame saw the Tigers sprint out to the early advantage, grabbing an 11-7 lead following a UAM error. The Blossoms, however, powered into a 16-11 lead of their own behind an impressive 9-0 run. During that stretch, the Blossoms got four key kills from Halli Lambert and two service aces from Shayna Daniels.

The Tigers would battle back, clawing as close as three points, but Lambert kill put the icing on the cake, giving UAM a 25-22 win in the decisive set as well as the match.

MarKayla Dickie led the Blossoms with nine kills followed by Lambert's seven. Daniels paced the squad with 31 assists.

ECU got six kills from Taylor Greenameyer.

UAM will attempt to extend its winning streak to three games on at home on Tuesday at 6 PM against Lyon College.
