JACKSON, Tenn. – University of Arkansas-Monticello women's golf placed fifth at Union University's Don Morris Invitational, Oct. 15-16, at the Jackson Country Club.
Belle Tan missed the Top 10 by two strokes after following her first-round 81 with a 91 on Tuesday. She finished in a tie for 11
th place with a 172 score. Maddie Mattocks was one stroke back at 173 (85, 88) and tied for 13
th. Maia Tanburg posted a 180 (87, 93) to finish 22
nd, while Skylar Mast was 26
th with a 187 (100, 87). Anna Beth Gulledge shot 123 in both rounds to finish 34
th.
Shorter University won the tournament with a two-day score of 641 (319, 322). NAIA program Freed-Hardeman University was second (650), followed by Union (658), Christian Brothers University (692), UAM (712), Bethel University (810) and Hendrix College (1036).
Shorter's Madison Sanders led all players with a 4-over performance 75 and 73 in her two rounds to win medalist honors.
