@UAMVolleyball Downed Twice at CBU Invitational

Memphis, Tenn. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team began the 2018 season on the road, falling to Maryville University 3-1, and to Pittsburg State 3-1 as well.

  • Final set scores from the match were 26-24, 25-22, and 25-19 in favor of the Saints. 
  • Arkansas-Monticello dropped the season opener, falling to 0-1.
  • Maryville picked up win number one on the year with a record of 1-1.

  • Offensively UAM was led by freshman Halli Lambert with 13 kills. She also totaled 12 digs on the day as well. 
  • Shayna Daniels led Arkansas-Monticello with 19 overall assists.  
  • Katelyn Richbourg provided a team-high 14 digs in her first collegiate match. 
  • Megan Orth added seven kills, and six digs in her UAM debut as well.

  • Final set scores from the match were 19-25, 25-22, 13-25, and 15-25 in favor of the Gorillas of PSU. 
  • Arkansas-Monticello falls to 0-2 overall on the year. 
  • Pitt State picked up its' second straight win to start 2-0 this season.

  • MarKayla Dickie anchored the offense with nine total kills to lead the squad. 
  • Zealia Kleitz and Megan Orth each added six kills a piece to the offensive effort. 
  • Sophomore Toryn Cox helped guide the offense with 18 assists. Toryn also added one service ace, and seven digs to her stat-line. 
  • Shayna Daniels provided a double-double with 13 digs, and 11 assists in the contest.

  • Arkansas-Monticello will compete in day two of the Christian Brothers Invitational as UAM takes on host school CBU to begin the day at 9 a.m. and will wrap up the invite against Kentucky Wesleyan College with first serve slated for 2 p.m.
