In the final few minutes, the Weevils had a 31-30 advantage, but a three from OBU made it a two-point lead in favor of the Tigers. The Weevils kept it within striking distance getting the lead to just one point with 10:07 remaining after a Justin Slocum jumper. UAM and OBU traded leads for the next several minutes, but the Tigers took over a little later.

With 4:47 remaining, OBU went on a bit of a run stretching a lead all the way to 10 points, 70-60. After a pair of Tigers free throws, UAM rushed up the floor and Austin Hardy drained a three. A few seconds later, OBU hit another free throw and Gilbert rushed up the floor for a layup to get the lead to six. He then hit a three-pointer with 18 seconds left. Unfortunately, UAM would be forced to foul in the final seconds and the Tigers hit their sealing free throws going on to win, 75-68.
