SCOUTING THE WEEVILS
The Weevils are on a five-game losing streak having not won since January 4th. On Thursday, the Weevils lost an overtime game against Southern Nazarene, 62-61. As for the Bison, they lost at Southern Arkansas University on Thursday, 77-60.
 
The Weevils are currently 22nd in NCAA Division II in scoring offense averaging 86.7 points per contest while surrendering 76.8 points per game for a +10.0-scoring margin. UAM is shooting 47.7 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from downtown. At the line, the Weevils are making 13.7 free throws per game for a percentage of 75.3.
 
UAM has continued to be one of the top teams in the country on the glass in its current rough patch ranking third in DII in total boards (822) and 16th in rebounds per game (41.1.). UAM also snags 13.5 offensive boards per game which is 21st-best in DII.
 
Defensively, the Weevils average 7.9 steals per game and 3.2 blocks per contest while forcing 15.8 turnovers per contest.
 
KJ Lesure is still UAM's leading scorer averaging 17.7 points per game. He also is 18th in the country in assists per game (6.2) and snags 1.9 steals per contest.
 
Justin Slocum is second to Lesure in scoring averaging 14.9 points per contest while also ranking second in rebounds per game at 6.8. He's also managed 16 blocks on defense and has grabbed the most offensive rebounds on the team with 56.
 
Marcus Gilbert has been a work horse for the Weevils this season leading the country in total minutes played (754) and ranking 12th in minutes per game (37.7). He also does a little bit of everything for the Weevils averaging 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists per contest.
 
Austin Hardy and Wanya King have been the team's sharpshooters this season with Hardy averaging 11.6 points per game while leading the team in three-point percentage (45.9). King is averaging 10.7 points per game and is shooting 42.4 percent from deep.
 
McDuffey has been the team's top rebounder averaging 8.2 boards per contest. He also leads the team in steals (40) and blocks (23), while averaging 10.5 points per game on offense.
