MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team will continue Great American Conference play this weekend when it travels to Weatherford, Oklahoma for a series at Southwestern Oklahoma State University on Friday and Saturday. The Blossoms will play the Lady Bulldogs in a doubleheader on Friday starting at 1 p.m. and then another doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 12 p.m.

BLOSSOM NOTES
UAM is coming off a four-game sweep of GAC opponent Ouachita Baptist. After a 5-1 win and a 3-2 in on Saturday, the Blossoms dominated on Sunday as well winning games three and four, 8-4 and 5-4 in eight innings. UAM is currently riding a five-game winning streak.
The Blossoms have bumped their team average to .275 (95-for-346). Three Blossoms are currently hitting above .300 while one is hovering just under at .297
Haley Godeaux comes in leading the way with a .344 (11-for-32) average with two home runs with nine RBI.
Caroline Tedder is just behind at .341 (14-for-41) leading the roster in home runs (3) and RBI (12).
Sydney Webster and
Kara DeBruin are third and fourth in average with Webster coming in batting an even .300 (9-for-30) and DeBruin is at .297 (11-for-37) with two home runs and five RBI. She also leads the team in runs scored with 12.
Katelynn Stamper had an impressive Ouachita series batting .467. She bumped her average to .289 (13-for-45) with a pair of doubles and triple.
In the circle,
Hayley McGhee and
Kaylee Freeman are pacing the Blossom hurlers. McGhee is 2-2 in seven appearances with one complete game. She has also struck out 11 batters.
Freeman is 2-1 in 10 appearances with one complete game while punching out 13 batters.

LADY BULLDOGS NOTES
SWOSU is batting .278 (88-for-316) with several batters hitting at least .300 and one over .400 at the moment.
Breanna Simmons paces SWOSU hitting carrying a .429 (12-for-28) also leading the team in on-base percentage (.514) and slugging percentage (.500).
Amanda Moreno leads the team in hits batting .372 (16-for-43) with three home runs and 13 RBI.
SWOSU is struggling in the circle with a team ERA of 6.81 (70 ER in 72.0 IP).
Their best hurler is winless in Miranda Grover. She carries a 6.00 ERA (18 ER in 21.0 IP) and has an 0-3 record.

UAM will return home for some more GAC action next weekend with Friday and Saturday matchups against Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
