The Weevils are looking to keep their season going with a contest against HSU at 2:15 p.m. from Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The winner of Friday's contest will play the winner of the two-seed Southeastern Oklahoma State University and seven-seed Southern Arkansas University who play Thursday at 12 p.m.
Prior to the tournament, the GAC banquet occurred on Wednesday. UAM award winners were
KJ Lesure,
Marcus Gilbert and
Justin Slocum. Lesure earned Second Team All-GAC honors and a Distinguished Scholar Athlete Award, while Gilbert and Slocum were GAC Honorable Mentions.
As for UAM's numbers entering this one, the Weevils come into this contest averaging 83.5 points per game while allowing 76.5 points per contest. UAM is shooting 47.1 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from three-point range.
The Weevils also average 38.9 rebounds per game while holding opponents to a 33.9 boards per contest. Defensively, they grab 8.4 steals per contest and 3.4 blocks per game and also force 13.6 turnovers per contest.
All-Conference honoree Lesure has been the team's leader in scoring this season averaging 18.3 points per game, 5.8 assists per game and 1.8 steals per contest. He also tied a team single-season record at Southern Nazarene capturing his 180th assist of the year.
Gilbert has averaged 14.0 points per game starting in all 31 games this season. He also leads the team in minutes per game and ranks ninth in the country in the category averaging 38.1 minutes per contest.
Slocum has been solid starting in all 31 games averaging 13.4 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per contest. He also is second on the team in blocks with 30 and has 34 steals.
Denzel McDuffey leads the team in rebounds per game at 7.8 per contest while also scoring 10.5 points per game. McDuffey also leads the team in steals with 61.

Henderson state earned the three seed in the tournament after carrying a 20-8 overall record and a 15-7 league mark. The Reddies also had three players get All-GAC honors in Chris Parker, Raekwon Rogers and Mike Fofana.
Henderson State comes into this contest having won its last game at East Central University, 99-94 in overtime. In fact, Henderson State's last two games have been overtime contests.
Parker leads the team in scoring with 15.0 points per game and leads the team in assists with 93. He shoots 42.9 percent from the field and 42.0 percent from downtown.
Rogers is averaging 12.4 points per contest and leads the team in rebounds at 7.7 per game, while Fofana was second on the team in rebounds per game at 6.9.
