MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's basketball team came out with a loss tonight in their Great American Conference match-up with Southwestern Oklahoma State University, 97-54.
In the first quarter, the Blossoms were throwing up shot after shot, coming out 5-18 for field goals and 2-5 on three pointers. Through their best efforts, the two teams would head into the second quarter with the Bulldogs on top.
The second quarter showed new light for the Blossoms as they were finding shots left and right. UAM finished out the quarter strong, only being outscored by three points. The teams would finish the half and head to the locker rooms with the Bulldogs still on top.
The third and fourth quarters were very similar as the two teams would continue their conference battle. SWOSU proved to have the half go their way as they out-scored UAM 52-25. The Bulldogs would win the game 97-54 and the Blossoms fall to a 0-5 record in conference play.
Taylor Flores led the charge posting 20 points and 2 rebounds.
Defensively, the Blossoms registered six steals and one blocks while forcing OBU into 16 turnovers.
