MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello continued the Senior Night celebration by topping Henderson State in four set Tuesday. The Blossoms were on the attack the entire match tallying 57 kills on 54 assists en route to the 3-1 win at Steelman Field House.
UAM Seniors Brittany Hamilton and Katie Pearson were honored before the match.
UAM (4-5, 4-5 GAC) took an early lead in the first set scoring five unanswered after HSU (3-5, 3-5 GAC) scored the first two points of the set. The two teams exchanged points as the set carried on until the Reddies took advantage of a pair 3-0 scoring runs to eventually take the first set 25-21.
The Blossoms responded in set two building a 20-6 lead in a hurry. UAM stifled any comeback attempt in the set by HSU winning 25-14.
In the third set UAM fell behind early 4-0, but quickly battled back to take a 7-6 lead. Both teams would exchange small runs until the Blossoms took control of the set with a 9-1 run to go up 20-15. UAM would hold on to win the set 25-18.
The fourth set went back-and-forth, but this time it was the Reddies who would make a 5-0 to take a 17-15 advantage. However, the Blossoms came back on the attack outscoring HSU 9-2 down the stretch to win the set 25-21 and take the match 3-1.
Five Blossoms tallied at least eight kills with Mikaela Brown leading the way with 13. Faith Wilemon and Victoria Hamilton followed with 12 and 11 kills, respectively, while Isabelle Combs and Taylor Calhoun each added eight.
Pearson spread the ball around nicely recording 46 assists to go along with 16 digs.
Defensively, Katelyn Richbourg led the way registering 37 digs. Combs and Kenzi Thornton also had double digit digs posting 13 each.

UAM wraps up the regular season on the road against Southern Arkansas Tuesday, March 30. First serve against the Muleriders is set for 6 p.m.
