ALVA, Okla. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's basketball team came out with a loss tonight in their Great American Conference match-up with Northwestern Oklahoma State University, 97-49.

In the first quarter, the Blossoms were throwing up shot after shot, but could not break the NWOSU defense. Through their best efforts, the two teams would head into the second quarter with the Lady Rangers on top.

The second quarter proved not much different for the Blossoms as they continued trying to stop the Lady Ranger offense. The teams would finish the half and head to the locker rooms with NWOSU still on top.

The second half proved to go the Lady Rangers way as the two teams continued play. The Blossoms continued to put up a fight, but were unable to reclaim the lead from the NWOSU Lady Rangers. UAM would fall to the Lady Rangers, 97-49.

The Blossoms will be back in action on Saturday, January 29th as they travel to Southwestern Oklahoma State University in a Great American Conference match-up. The game is set to begin at 1:00 PM.

Hayley Flores led the charge for the Blossoms, posting 10 points and 1 rebound.

Defensively, the Blossoms registered four steals and seven blocks while forcing NWOSU into 10 turnovers.
