DURANT, OK. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello Men's basketball team falls as they traveled to Durant, Oklahoma for a Great American Conference match-up against Southeastern Oklahoma State University on Thursday, 85-58.
The first half was not an ideal beginning for the Weevils. Though UAM was the first to score in the match, they would not see another lead for the remainder of the half. The Savage Storm defense proved to be a force as they stopped any momentum that Monticello had. The Weevils were able to put up 33 points throughout the entirety, but trailed Southeastern 52-33 as the two teams would head into the lockerroom.
The second half proved to be a much better showcase from the Weevils as they went back and forth with the Bearcats for the remainder of the game. UAM put up 25 points compared to Southeastern Oklahoma State's 35 points. Even with Monticello having given best efforts, they were unable to take back the lead the Storm had built. UAM finished out the match with a final score of 85-58
Richard Feagin Jr. finished as the leading scorer for the Weevils tallying 13 points in the game.
