Volleyball Falls to Rangers at Home

Box Score MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team hosted Great American Conference member, Northwestern Oklahoma State University, on Friday evening. The Blossoms played three total sets, dropping Friday night's match-up to the Rangers.

The opening set started with the Blossoms taking an early 5-2 lead over Northwestern Oklahoma. The rangers came back to tie it up at the mid way point, but a huge kill by Jasmine Welton gave the Blossoms some life. Multiple kills by Evalyn Dang, Campbell Horn, and Natalie White kept the blossoms in the running. The Rangers came through to take the electric set one, 25-23.

Set two started off slow for the blossoms, until a kill by Natalie White stopped the Rangers' momentum. A set by Meagan Anderson that led to a kill by Campbell Horn brought back some life into the Blossoms as NWOSU continued their lead at 10-4. The Rangers continued pushed forward, but UAM fought with them, going into the middle part of the set 16-7. NWOSU broke away with the lead going into the back half of the set, winning 25-15.

The final set started with and early 7-0 lead by the visiting team. The Blossoms weren't backing down, as assists from Jordan Wehr and Meagan Anderson and a big time kills by Jasmine Welton, Cambpell Horn, Natalie White, and Abrielle Jordan put the Blossoms back in the game. The Rangers kept the lead going into the middle of the set, with the Blossoms trailing 18-7. NWOSU, unfortunately, remained in control for the remainder of the set, winning 25-13, and taking the match.

Jasmine Welton led the Blossoms in kills with 6 on the night.

Meagan Anderson and Jordan Wehr each contributed 11 assists in the match.

Defensively, the Blossoms were led by Stasha Adams with 22 digs on the night.
