Blossoms Leave Ouachita Baptist with a Weekend Sweep

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team traveled to Arkadelphia, Arkansas on Sunday to take on Great American Conference member Ouachita Baptist University for game three of their weekend series. The Blossoms came out of the final game of the series with a 10-0 win over the Tigers.

Scoring Recap:
The Blossoms put three runs on the board in the first, with Kennedy Cox driving a single through the four-hole to bring home Hannah Holdbrook, followed by a single from Maddie Pfleging to score Grace Neal. The final run of the inning came on a Bailey Camp single through the left side to score Sophie Wood.

UAM would follow up with a seven run second inning. Kennedy Cox smacked a double center field to once again bring Holdbrook across the plate. Pfleging drilled a 2 RBI single into left field, followed by a three-run bomb from newcomer Lexie Smith to put the Blossoms up 9-0. The final run of the inning, and the game, came as Bailey Camp scored on a ground out.

The Tiger offense was unable to respond, leading to a 10-0 run-rule victory for UAM in five innings.

Pitching Performances
- Maguire Estill started in the circle in game 3, throwing 3.0 innings with 0 runs allowed on 3 hits. She also had one strike out.
- Kyann Woods saw an inning of work with 0 runs and only 1 hit allowed.
- Sam Stephens closed out the last inning of the game. She also allowed 0 runs on 1 hit with a strikeout.

Offensive Showcase
- Maddie Pfleging - 2-for-3 with 3 RBI and 1 Run Scored
- Lexie Smith - 2-for-2 with 1 Home Run, 3 RBI and 1 Run Scored

The sweep on the weekend pushes Arkansas-Monticello to 11-6 on the season and 4-2 in GAC play.
