LARCHWOOD, Iowa – Gabriela Maldonado of the Arkansas-Monticello women's golf team closed out the 2023 Central Regional Women's Golf Championship on Wednesday afternoon at the Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort ® in Larchwood, Iowa. She finished her final round of the tournament tied for 23rd place.

After the conclusion of 2022-2023 regular season play, Maldonado was selected to the 2023 All-GAC Women's Golf Second Team and now holds the UAM record for best scoring average in a single season in Blossoms history with an average score of 77.77. Because of her performance on the year, she qualified to compete individually at the Central Region Tournament.

Before the tournament, Maldonado had completed 19 rounds through eight tournaments, placing within the top-20 for all except one, where she finished tied for 22nd. Her best finish on the year came in the Natural State Golf Classic, where she was tied for fourth upon completion of the tournament. In the Great American Conference tournament, Maldonado closed out the final round tied for 10th. Throughout her three rounds played, she carded a 1-over 73 in the first round, followed by an 84 in the second and a 77 in the final round.

Maldonado finished the third day of the Central Region Tournament tied for 23rd place. Her three rounds compiled of a 76 on both Monday and Tuesday, followed by an improved 75 in the final round on Wednesday
