SEARCY, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's and women's cross country team traveled to Searcy, Arkansas to compete in the Steve Guymon Invitational hosted by Harding University. The team's both placed fifth in their races.
The Weevils completed the course with a total time of 2:17:29 to finish in fifth place as a team, and the Blossoms completed the course with a total time of 2:14:28 to also finish in fifth place as a team.
Men's 4 Miles (6.44 Kilometers)
The top runner for the men's team was Donovan Cooper, who landed with a 34th overall finish after completing the race with a time of 25:26.4.
Cam Rhodes was close behind with a 37th finish overall and a time of 26:29.9. Sam Bostian followed next finishing 39th, and Gilberto Fernandez coming in 40th.
Rounding out the group for UAM were Kyle Glover and Tyler Johnson, who landed 45th and 50th overall.
Women's 5K (3.11 Miles)
The top runner for the women's team was Rebekah Perry who landed with a 22nd overall finish with a final time of 25:08.1.
Lauren Spoon followed two places behind with a 24th finish after posting a 25:22. Emmy Apodaca took 30th place, followed by BreAmber Wallace in 32nd.
Rounding out the group for UAM were Maddie Pfleging and Olivia Caraway, who landed 35th and 36th overall.

The Weevils and Blossoms will compete in the Ole Glory Gallop Invitational hosted by Dallas Baptist University on Saturday, Oct. 7 in Grand Prairie, Texas.
