HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - The University of Arkansas-Monticello Women's Golf team sits in 10th place after the opening rounds of the Battle for the Belt Tournament at the Hot Springs Country Club (Park Course) on Sunday, Oct. 13, hosted by Henderson State University. The Blossoms shot a 36-hole combined total of 623 (+47), while fellow GAC member and host Henderson State University sits in first, posting a 36-hole total of 14-over par (590).
Leading the Blossoms on the day was
Tori Milton, who tied for 7th at 4-over par (148). Milton fired a first round of 1-over par (73, before closing out the day with a score of 75 (+3).
After scoring a 79 (+7) in round one and 6-over par (78) in the final round of the day,
Shehna Akbary currently sits tied for 34th with a score of 157 (+13).
Natalie Van Dort finished the first day of the tournament tied for 38th, 14-over par (158), after completing both rounds one and two with the same score of +7 (79).
In 51st place,
Mekdes Rozas shot a combined score of 16-over par (160) after a first-round score of 80 (+8) and a fired second-round of 8-over par (+8).
Closing out the day for the Blossoms is
Cadee Glasgow who currently sits tied at 61 with a score of 37-over par (181). Glasgow completed round one with a final score of 94 (+22), before putting up 15-over par (87) in the final round.
The Blossoms shot for 15 birdies on the first day, six in round one and nine in round two.
The Blossoms will play their final round on Monday, October 14th at 9:00 a.m.
