ADA, Okla. - The Arkansas-Monticello Volleyball team (4-17, 0-11) closed out its final Oklahoma match Friday afternoon, with a 3-0 (9-25, 7-25, 21-25) loss to the Tigers of East Central University (14-10, 8-3) inside the Kerr Activities Center.
UAM was held to a .030 hitting percentage on 47 digs, 24 assists, one block, two aces, and 25 kills.
SET-BY-SET
FIRST SET (9-25 ECU, ECU leads 0-1)
The Blossoms saw themselves trailing the Tigers early in the set, 0-8. A kill from Evalyn Dang ended the bleeding momentarily, 1-8, as ECU put up another eight points to the Blossoms one, 2-16. While an effort to stay in the game commenced for UAM, the Tiger's strong offense held their own, scoring nine points over 16 serves over the Blossoms to win the set, 25-9.
SECOND SET (7-25 ECU, ECU leads 0-2)
UAM began the second set on the wrong side of the scoreboard down, 0-5, to the Tigers. Two kills from Holiday Ellis gave the Blossoms some life as the Blossoms added four points of their own to the board, 4-9. Despite the effort, the green and white could not hold on, scoring only three more points in the set, dropping set two to the Tigers, 7-25.
THIRD SET (21-25 ECU, ECU wins 0-3)
For the first time in the match, Arkansas-Monticello saw themselves leading a set 4-2. However, four unanswered points for ECU, put the Blossoms behind the Tigers again, 4-6. Set three reminded even at 8-8, before the Tigers started to take control, 11-17. Trying to remove the claws of Tigers, the Blossoms cut the lead to just three, 20-23. The rally for UAM ended after one more point, 21-23, as a service error from the Blossoms and a service ace for the Tigers sealed the set and match, 21-25, 0-3.

The Blossoms return to the court next Thursday Oct 31., for an afternoon match-up, as they take on the Lady Bisons of Harding University. The first serve is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. from the Rhodes-Reaves Field House in Sercy, Arkansas.
