MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello Volleyball team (4-20, 0-14 GAC) will close out its 2024 campaign this week with two GAC matches. The Blossoms will start out the week at home on Tuesday, November 12 at 6:00 p.m. taking on the Muleriders (11-11 5-9 GAC) of Southern Arkansas University, before traveling to Arkadelphia, Ark. to take on the Reddies (14-13, 5-9 GAC) of Henderson State Univeristy on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 6:00 p.m.
On Tuesday night, after the match, we will honor our five graduating seniors;
Abrielle Jordan,
Michayla Black,
Alexia Hajdu,
Bruna Silva, and
Holiday Ellis.
"Going into this last week is very bittersweet's this season didn't turn out like how we wanted it it to, so knowing we only have two more games is tough," said Head Coach
Arlicia Ortiz.
"We have a couple of injuries, but to show our appreciation, we're going to rock out with our seniors as much as we can. I'm going to miss their talent, leadership & overall personalities, but I think adrenaline is kicking in they're looking good to finish strong."

Southern Arkansas University: The Muleriders rode away with a win on Oct. 1, when they took down UAM 3-0 (23-25, 21-25, 15-25) in Magnolia. Arkansas Monticello was held to a .169 hitting percentage on 39 kills, 54 digs, 35 assists, 6 blocks, and 4 serving aces. Leading for the Blossoms were
Abrielle Jordan (8 kills, 4 blocks),
Holiday Ellis (3 serving aces),
Jordan Wehr (12 digs), and
Mia Smalls (17 assists). During the match,
Mia Smalls recorded her third double-double of the year with 17 assists and 10 digs.
Henderson State University: The Reddies were victorious in the last match-up on October 3, defeating the Blossoms 3-0 (17-25, 24-26, 21-25) inside Steelman Fieldhouse. HSU held the Blossoms to a .152 hitting percentage on 37 kills, 47 digs, 34 assists, 8 blocks, and 2 serving aces. UAM was led by

All-TIME SERIES
Southern Arkansas University: Through 39 meetings the Muleriders lead with an all-time series record of 20-19. Inside Steelman Fieldhouse, the Blossoms hold the winning record at 11-8, while on the road in Magnolia, they are 8-12. Through the last 10 matches, the Blossoms are at a 5-5 win-loss record. The last 3-0 win for UAM came in 2019 at home in Monticello, with the last victory for the green and white came via a 3-2 win in Magnolia in 2021, this match would be the last winning match for the Blossoms.
Henderson State University: Thursday evening's match is the 39th meeting between UAM and HSU since they started play in Sept. 2005. The Reddies hold the overall record at 24-14, with 13 of those wins coming from inside Steelman Field House. Overall the Blossoms are 7-13 at home in Monticello, while on the road in Arkadelphia, they are 7-11. Through the last 10 meetings, the Blossoms are 2-10, with the last win coming from a 3-0 decision in Arkadelphia. The longest win streak for the green and white was from Oct 2011 - Nov. 2015 with the Blossoms winning 9 straight.

- UAM went 0-2 last week with a 3-0 (14-25, 14-25,17-25) loss to Arkansas Tech University on Monday, Nov. 4, followed by a 3-1 (16-25, 25-14, 11-25, 21-25) loss to Ouachita Baptist University on Thursday, Nov. 7.

- Arkansas-Monticello is averaging a .123 hitting percentage on 16.22 digs, 10.49 kills, 9.82 assists, 1.60 blocks, and 1.35 service aces in 89 sets played this season.
- Senior Abrielle Jordan ranks fifth on total blocks with 0.96% on 29 blocks solo and 51 assisted on 80 total attempts.
- Setter Mia Smalls ranks ninth in total assists with 503 through 87 sets played (5.78%).
