MONTICELLO, Ark. - Arkansas-Monticello's Men's Basketball team (1-2) is set for two games this week to close out November play inside Steelman Fieldhouse in Monticello. The Weevils will take on the Buffaloes of Arkansas Baptist College on Tuesday, November 19 at 6:00 p.m., before going head to head with the Royals of Ecclesia College at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23.

Saturday's match will be the second part of a non-conference doubleheader alongside the UAM Women's Basketball team.

"We are excited to get to play this week at home," said Head Coach Chad Tapp. "Arkansas Baptist is 5-0 coming in and definitely a test. Both games are great opportunities for us to get better."

LAST MEETING
Arkansas Baptist College - The Weevils ended with a 75-72 win over the Buffaloes in November of 2022. Former Weevil Edwin Louis led the way for Arkansas-Monticello with 21 points, going 6-12 on field goals, 2-5 on shots from three-point range, and 7-8 on free throws. He also contributed three rebounds. Former Weevil Marion Fantina also scored 16 points for the Weevils, going 6-7 from two-point range, 3-4 on shots beyond the arc, and 1-3 from the free throw line. He also had two rebounds of his own. Current senior Isaac Jackson and former Weevil Josh Denton each put up 12 and 10 points of their own. Jackson went 5-12 on field goals and 2-2 on free throws with six rebounds. Denton was 5-7 on the evening for field goals, 1-5 on shots from range, and 3-5 on shots from the line while giving the Weevils four defensive rebounds.

Ecclesia College - Arkansas-Monticello saw their eighth straight victory over the Royals when they won 79-43, in November of 2022. Returner Josh Denton led the way for Arkansas-Monticello with 15 points, going 5-8 on field goals and 4-6 on shots from three-point range. He also contributed four rebounds in his 25 minutes played. Cole Anderson and Isaac Jackson each put up 14 and 13 points of their own. Anderson went 6-9 on field goals and 2-2 on free throws with two rebounds. Jackson was 5-8 on the evening for field goals and 3-3 on shots from the line while giving the Weevils two offensive rebounds. Alex Brogdon put up 11 points of their own in the match. Brogdon went 3-6 on field goals, 2-5 on threes, and 3-3 from the free throw line with a team-leading nine rebounds in the match.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Arkansas Baptist College - Through 30 matches played against the Buffaloes, UAM holds an overall record of 26-4 dating back to the 1983 season. Arkansas-Monticello won 15 straight games between 11/30/1983 and 12/13/1991, with the highest margin of victory coming from the final win on the streak at 134-80. The highest overall victory came in 1993 when UAM took down ABC with a score of 145-107. Through 30 matches, the Boll Weevils have scored 2865 points, averaging 95.5 points per game.

Ecclesia College - Through 8 games against the Royals, the Weevils have an undefeated, 8-0. All eight wins have come from inside Steelman Fieldhouse dating back to the first 85-70 win in 2006. The largest margin of victory for UAM was set in 2009 when the Weevils put up 88 points to the Royals 48. Through the eight games played the boys in green and white have scored 668 points, averaging 83.5 per game.
