RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's basketball team dropped its final game of the fall semester to Arkansas Tech University on Thursday. The Weevils came up short of the Wonder Boys, 56-33.
Leading Arkansas-Monticello (3-8, 0-5 GAC) with 10 points on the night was
Noah Thomas. Thomas hit 4-11 field goals and 2-4 shots from three-point range while grabbing three rebounds, one assist, and two steals.
Arkansas Tech (5-6, 2-3 GAC) was led by
Cassius Brooks and
Braden Tanner with 17 points each.
The first half of the game opened with the Weevils offense striking first to take a 5-0 lead. The Wonder Boys fought back and increased their lead, holding it for the remainder of the half, as both teams headed to the locker room with Arkansas Tech leading 29-16.
The second 20-minute period proved to be won by Arkansas Tech, as they outscored the Weevils 27-17. The Wonder Boys increased their lead to a game-high 23 points and would hold the lead for the remainder of the game, eventually taking a 56-33 win over Monticello.
Arkansas-Monticello committed 16 turnovers in the entirety of the match.
