MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team opened up their conference series with Arkansas Tech on Thursday afternoon. The Blossoms came out of the day with a 5-0 shutout win in game one.

Kennedy Cox drove in the first run of the game in the third, scoring
Jadyn Hart on a single through the right side.
Hart would bring home run number two in the fourth on an RBI in the fourth on a single of her own.
The Blossoms scored three more runs in the fifth. Cox found another RBI single, this time down the right field line, to score
Sophie Wood. Cox made her way across the plate on an error and was followed by
Lexie Smith, who scored on a single up the middle from
Ronnie Johnson.
The Golden Suns were unable to respond.
The win on the day pushes Arkansas-Monticello to a 15-19, 7-11 GAC record for the 2024 season.

Arkansas-Monticello is back in action on Friday, Mar. 29 to close out their GAC series with Arkansas Tech University. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 12:00 p.m.
