MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team hosted conference rival Southern Arkansas University, Tuesday afternoon for a doubleheader. The Blossoms lost the first game of the doubleheader, 11-2, to the Muleriders, and saw game two canceled after the first inning due to incoming weather.

Arkansas-Monticello: 0, Southern Arkansas: 5

Scoring Recap:
The Muleriders scored a run in the first inning to take an early lead over the Blossoms. SAU would grow that lead in the fifth, scoring seven more runs to increase their lead to 8-0.
Lexie Smith got UAM on the board in the bottom half of the fifth, scoring
Adrianna Erichsen on an RBI single to left.
Courtnee Sensibaugh scored in the sixth on a throwing error to cut the SAU lead down to 8-2.
Southern Arkansas' offense rallied again in the seventh, pushing their advantage over UAM to 11-2.
Monticello was unable to respond in the bottom of the inning, resulting in a loss.
Game 2, Canceled
The loss on the day drop Arkansas-Monticello to a 21-24, 13-14 GAC record in the 2024 season.

Arkansas-Monticello is back to work, Friday April 19, when they travel to Weatherford, Oklahoma to open their GAC series with Southwestern Oklahoma State University. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m., with game two of the doubleheader to follow.
