MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team is scheduled to travel to Bentonville, Arkansas Thursday, May 2 to compete in the 2024 Great American Conference Tournament. The Blossoms will open tournament play against 6th seed Southeastern Oklahoma State University at 1:00 p.m.

UAM vs. SE HISTORY
Heading into tournament weekend, the all-time series between Arkansas-Monticello and Southeastern Oklahoma leans towards the Savage Storm, with SE holding a 30-18 record with UAM. At Alvy Early Field, the Blossoms hold a 6-11 record against the Storm.

The largest margin of victory came on February 24, 2023 when UAM reigned victorious in a 9-1 victory in game two of their conference series. The Blossoms would proceed to drop the three game series.

PREVIEW
Heading into the conference tournament, Arkansas-Monticello (15-17) and Southeastern (15-17) are ranked 6th and 7th in the GAC. The Blossoms are coming off a 2-1 series loss to East Canetral University this past weekend. Meanwhile, the Savage Storm are heading into the tournament after a series win over Southern Arkansas University.

In terms of offensive showcase, UAM is eighth in the conference with a team batting average of .266. SE is sitting in third, with an overall batting average of .294. When it comes to fire power at the plate, the Savage Storm prevail over the Weevils in slugging percentage, with a .402 compared to UAM's .365. Monticello leads in doubles with an 63-62 advantage on doubles and a 7-5 lead in triples, but Southeastern leads in home runs 27-19.

Monticello sits at tenth in the conference for least amount of strikeouts with 253, while Southeastern is hovering at seventh with 219 heading into the weekend.

On the rubber, UAM has the ninth lowest ERA in the GAC with a 4.41 throughout the 2024 season. SE sits at seventh in the conference with a 3.96 ERA among their staff so far this year.

OFFENSIVE SHOWCASE
• Senior Bailey Camp leads the offense for Monticello, holding a .327 average throughout her 50 contests played on of the year. Camp also has a slugging percentage of .400, hitting 8 doubles and one home run, with an on-base percentage with a .413.
• Kennedy Cox has also been a big part of the Blossoms offense, boasting a .323 average on the year with 31 RBI. Cox has nine doubles, four home runs, and one triple on the year, while holding a .466 slugging and a .354 on-base percentages.
• The Savage Storm's top three hitters are Gracie Ore, Kady Fryrear, and Sage Harlow; two of which are in the Top-10 averages for the GAC. Among the three are 29 doubles, eight home runs, and one triple throughout Southeastern Oklahoma State's 2024 campaign.

PITCHING SHOWCASE
• Mallory Pitre has the lowest ERA of starters on the Blossoms staff, boasting a 3.39 on the year. Pitre has a 9-11 record on the season with 107 strikeouts through 136.1 innings pitched in 2024.
• Kyann Woods has the lowest ERA of the pitching staff with a 3.34 through 67.0 innings. Woods holds an 8-6 record on the season.
• Southeastern is lead by Emily Simmons in the circle. Simmons holds a 3.19 ERA with an 8-8 record on the year, while striking out 93.
