LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team closed out the second day of the 2024 GAC Championships on Friday afternoon. The No. 1 seeded Boll Weevils were the home team in the match-up, taking on the No. 3 seeded Harding University. UAM locked in their trip to the tournament finals with a 7-6 win.

The Boll Weevils struck first on their second game of the weekend, seeing
Chase Cripps bring home
Camden Tanner in the first on a SAC fly to center field.
Harding got on the board in the second on a two run home run down the left field line.
Cripps grabbed his second RBI of the day in the third, driving in
Kirk Woolf on a single to center.
An RBI single in the seventh put HU back out front. UAM responded with five runs in the bottom of the inning, seeing two runs scored on RBI singles, two on wild pitches, and a final on a SAC fly ball to take a 7-3 lead over Harding.
The Bisons put three runs on the board in the eighth, but the effort was cut short, eventually ending the game with a 7-6 win for UAM.
The win on the day gave UAM their 31st victory of the 2024 season and advances the Boll Weevils to the finals of the tournament.

Arkansas-Monticello is back to work at Dickey-Stephens tomorrow, May 11, to take on No. 2 seed Arkansas Tech University at 12:00 p.m, for the championship, followed by a second game if necessary.
