MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team (3-19, 0-11 GAC) are preparing to host the Lady Bisons of Harding University (18-4, 9-2 GAC) on Thursday, October 30 inside Steelman Fieldhouse for a Halloween match. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m., with Arkansas-Monticello looking for their first win over Harding since 2015.

*Due to current renovations to Steelman Fieldhouse there are changes in place for the 2025 season, those changes can be found below.*
 
All-TIME SERIES
Harding University - This will be the 44th meeting between the Blossoms and the Lady Bisons. Harding holds a strong lead over the Blossoms, 42-1, with the sole win for UAM coming in 2015 in a 3-0 sweep (25-18, 25-21, 25-23) at home in Monticello. The Blossoms are currently 1-19 at home, 0-22 in Searcy, and 1-40 overall in conference action.

LAST MEETING
Harding University - The Lady Bisons took the last meeting over the Blossoms 3-0 (4-25, 18-25, 13-25) this past September in Searcy. The opening set began with the Lady Bisons taking a commanding 7-0 lead. The Blossoms were able to stop the bleeding momentarily with two kills and an attack error to bring the set to 11-3. Harding's offense did not hold back, going on a 14-1 run, taking the first set, 25-4. The Blossoms fell behind in the scoreboard, 6-0, to Harding early in set two. The Lady Bisons pulled away from the Monticello defense, 20-10. The Blossoms cut the deficit to just four points, 21-17, although it wasn't enough as HU scored four more points over the next five serves to take set two, 25-18. Arkansas-Monticello saw themselves down early in set three, 10-8, however, six consecutive points from the Lady Bisons would see them pull away to 16-8. The Blossoms brought the score to 16-11 due to three kills, but this last-minute rally from UAM did not provide much as Harding was able to take the final set and match win, 25-13 and 3-0. UAM was held to a -.042 hitting percentage on 38 digs, 17 assists, 3 blocks, 2 aces, and 19 kills.

BLOSSOMS BY THE NUMBERS

• Arkansas-Monticello has played 61 sets this season, averaging a .075 hitting percentage. The team averages 16.13 digs, 9.00 kills, 8.30 assists, 1.03 blocks, and 1.46 service aces per set.
• Jordan Wehr ranks seventh in the conference in digs, averaging 4.34 digs in 53 sets played.

 

BLOSSOM SEASON LEADERS
The Blossoms are led on the court by; kills, Sophia Grubbs (111), aces, Brooklynn Meredith and Mia Smalls (13), digs, Jordan Wehr (251), blocks, Jalen Scroggins (25), and assists, Mia Smalls (291). Leading UAM in double-doubles is Mia Smalls with 11, with one being a triple-double. The Lone Star native earned the feat against Christian Brothers (9/20/25) with 10 kills, 13 assists, and 11 digs.
 

LAST TIME OUT THIS SEASON
The Blossoms went 0-2 the last time out. Falling in three sets to Southwestern Oklahoma State University and in four sets to Northwestern Oklahoma State University. On Thursday, October 23 the Blossoms fell in a sweep from the Bulldogs (17-25, 21-25, 17-25), followed by a 3-1 loss to the Rangers (17-25, 15-25, 25-19, 23-25) on Friday, October 24.


ENTRANCE, RESTROOMS AND CONCESSIONS CHANGES

• Due to current renovations to Steelman Fieldhouse, the following have been changed:
  • The entrance for the 2025 season will be on the west side of Steelman next to the football field. Home fans will have to wait between serves to cross to the home bleachers once the match commences.
  • Portable bathrooms for all fans are on the opposite side of the Steelman next to the baseball field.
  • There will be no concessions available for home matches, and outside food and drinks will not be allowed into the gym.
