MONTICELLO, Ark. – Arkansas-Monticello's Boll Weevil basketball team (0-2) returns to the court on Tuesday, November 18, at 12:30 p.m. for its 2025-26 home opener. Tuesday's mid-afternoon meeting with the Warriors of Hendrix College (0-3) is also the annual Billie Ball game, where the Weevils and UAM Athletics welcome Monticello School District's Elementary and Intermediate students to Steelman Field House to cheer on the UAM Boll Weevils.

*Due to current renovations to Steelman Field House there are changes in place for the 2025 season, those changes can be found below.*

"Excited about the opportunity to play on our home floor in front of the intermediate and elementary schools," says Head Coach Chad Tapp. "Obviously, last weekend didn't go how we wanted, against two really good teams. So this is a chance for us to improve, especially defensively."

LAST MEETING
Hendrix College - The last time the Boll Weevils and Warriors went head-to-head on the court was in November of 2023, a 72-45 win for the Weevils. Isaac Jackson and Cole Anderson scored the first points of the game, both going 2-2 on free throws in the opening two minutes. After seeing the Warriors hold their own for a brief moment, a dunk from Jackson and back-to-back three-pointers from Zane Nelson kicked off a Weevil rally that pushed the Monticello lead higher throughout the remainder of the opening 20 minutes. As the half came to a close, Nelson hit his third three of the game at the buzzer to give UAM a 16-point advantage over Hendrix. Arkansas-Monticello shot for 45% in the first half, hitting 13-29 field goals, compared the the Warriors' 7-24. The teams would head to the locker rooms with the Weevils on top, 33-17. The second 20 minutes saw Jackson once again scoring the first points of the half. The Warriors chipped away at the Monticello lead, dropping their advantage down to 13 points before UAM found its stride again. The Weevil offense saw another three from Nelson to give them a 44-26 lead. A 29-point advantage was the highest UAM would see within the match-up, dropping to 27 at its conclusion. The Warriors outperformed the Weevils in field goal percentage, hitting 55% compared to the UAM's 48%. Monticello led in total shots 31 to 20, outscoring the opponent 39-28. The Boll Weevils would conclude the game with a 72-45 win over Hendrix College. Isaac Jackson led the way for Arkansas-Monticello (1-2) with 32 points, going 13-21 on total field goals, 2-4 on shots from three-point range, and 4-4 from the free throw line.
