2025 Arkansas-Monticello Blossoms Roster | GAC Volleyball
MONTICELLO, Ark. – Your Arkansas-Monticello Blossoms (3-20, 0-12 GAC) will split a pair of matches this week as they continue Great American Conference play. Arkansas-Monticello will begin the week at home inside Steelman Fieldhouse, as they welcome the Golden Suns (13-9, 9-3 GAC) of Arkansas Tech University for a 6:00 p.m. match on Tuesday, November 4. The ladies in green and white will then travel to Ouachita Baptist (22-3, 12-0 GAC) on Thursday, November 6th, for a 6:00 p.m. meeting with the Tigers.

*Due to current renovations to Steelman Fieldhouse there are changes in place for the 2025 season, those changes can be found below.*
 

All-TIME SERIES
Arkansas Tech University - 
This will be the 45th meeting between the Blossoms and the Golden Suns. Arkansas Tech holds a 36-8 record over UAM, a record that dates back to the first meeting on September 20, 2005, a 0-3 loss for the Blossoms. The last win for UAM came in November of 2023, a 3-1 win at home in Steelman Fieldhouse. Overall the Blossoms have a 6-14 record in Monticello, 2-20 in Russellville, with a 8-33 mark in conference play.

Ouachita Baptist University - Thursday's match will be the 43rd time these two teams have faced each other on the court. The Blossoms trail the Tigers 10-32 overall, with their last win coming on September 6, 2022, a 3-2 decision for the Blossoms. UAM holds a 7-15 record inside Steelman Fieldhouse, with a 3-16 record in Arkadelphia, and a 9-31 record in conference play. 

LAST MEETING
Arkansas Tech University - 
The Blossoms fell in their latest meeting with the Golden Suns in September, 0-3 (6-25, 16-25, 20-25). The Blossoms were quick to fall behind in set one, 0-6, to the Golden Suns in the opening set, before adding a point to the board. Arkansas Tech scored eight unanswered points, increasing the lead to 14-1. UAM could only manage five more points to ATU's 11, falling behind in the series, 0-1. Arkansas-Monticello took the lead against the Golden Suns early in set two, 8-6. However, seven unanswered points for ATU put the Blossoms behind, 13-8. Despite the efforts from the offense, the Blossoms could not break the deficit as the Golden Suns rallied to take set two, 25-16. The Blossoms fell behind early in the final set, 5-2, but quickly responded to bring the match within one. The Golden Suns began to pull ahead once more to take an 18-11 lead. The Blossoms rallied to cut the deficit to three, but it wasn't enough as ATU took the final set, 25-20, and the match, 3-0. 

Ouachita Baptist University - On September 23, the Blossoms fell in three sets to the Tigers (9-25, 9-25, 11-25). The opening set began with Ouachita Baptist out to a strong start, outscoring the Blossoms, 6-2. Arkansas-Monticello cut the deficit to just two, 9-7, but the Tigers wouldn't relinquish control, taking a six-point advantage, 15-9. The Blossoms would surrender a 10-0 rally, giving the first set to OBU. Set two of the match looked to be a repeat of the first, when the Tigers took an 8-2 lead. The Tigers pulled ahead with nine more points to push them into a 17-6 advantage. Ouachita Baptist controlled the remainder of the set, scoring eight points over the next 10 serves, to win 25-8. In the final set with Ouachita Baptist, the Blossoms once again started the match behind, 14-4. UAM was held to only seven more points and couldn't hold on for the remainder of the match. The Tigers would take set three, 25-11, and the match win over the Blossoms.
 

BLOSSOMS BY THE NUMBERS

  • Arkansas-Monticello has played 64 sets this season, averaging a .076 hitting percentage. The team averages 16.13 digs, 9.00 kills, 8.30 assists, 1.30 blocks, and 1.39 service aces per set.
  • Jordan Wehr ranks seventh in the conference in digs, averaging 4.38 digs in 56 sets played.
 

BLOSSOM SEASON LEADERS
The Blossoms are led on the court by; kills, Sophia Grubbs (117), aces, tie Brooklynn Meredith & Mia Smalls (13), digs, Jordan Wehr (266), blocks, Jalen Scroggins (25), and assists, Mia Smalls (310). Leading UAM in double-doubles is Mia Smalls with 12, with one being a triple-double. The Lone Star native earned the feat against Christian Brothers (9/20/25) with 10 kills, 13 assists, and 11 digs.


 BLOSSOM HIGHLIGHTS FROM LAST WEEK vs. HARDING

  • Jalen Scroggins surpassed 100 season kills with her six in the match.
  • Evalyn Dang surpassed 200 career digs with her 4 in the match.
  • Mia Smalls secured her 12th double-double of the season with her 19 assists and 11 digs, which also helped her surpass 300 season assists and 200 season digs.
 

LAST TIME OUT THIS SEASON
The Blossoms went 0-1 the last time out falling to the Lady Bisons in three sets (16-25, 11-25, 14-25) on Thursday, October 30 inside Steelman Fieldhouse in Monticello, Arkansas.

ENTRANCE, RESTROOMS AND CONCESSIONS CHANGES

  • Due to current renovations to Steelman Fieldhouse, the following have been changed:
    • The entrance for the 2025 season will be on the west side of Steelman next to the football field. Home fans will have to wait between serves to cross to the home bleachers once the match commences.
    • Portable bathrooms for all fans are on the opposite side of the Steelman next to the baseball field.
    • There will be no concessions available for home matches, and outside food and drinks will not be allowed into the gym.
