MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's basketball team will close out the 2025 portion of its season against the Wonder Boys of Arkansas Tech University inside Steelman Field House on Thursday, December 18, at 7:30 p.m.

LAST MEETING
Arkansas Tech University - Arkansas-Monticello fell in the last meeting with the Wonder Boys 40-48 on January 25, 2025. The first half of the game proved to be an intense back-and-forth between the teams. The opening 20 minutes eventually came to a close with a jumper from Seth Grandberry, sending both teams to the locker room with Monticello on top, 23-22. Arkansas Tech flipped the script and won the second half, outscoring the Weevils 25-18. The game would conclude with a 48-40 loss for UAM. Seth Grandberry led Arkansas-Monticello as the only Weevil with double digits, with 17 points on the afternoon. Grandberry hit 6-12 field goals and 5-6 shots from the free-throw line while grabbing three rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Arkansas-Monticello committed 15 turnovers in the entirety of the match.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Arkansas Tech University - Thursday's match-up will be the 135th meeting between the two squads. The Boll Weevils trail the Wonder Boys in overall record, 55-79, dating back to the first matchup on December 2, 1960, a 48-83 loss for UAM. The largest margin of victory came via a 94-72 decision on January 18, 2018. Arkansas-Montiello's longest win streak over ATU is four games, played between December 1985 and December 1986. Inside Steelman Field House, the Weevils are 39-28, 14-48 on the road, and 53-75 in GAC conference action. Through 134 games, the Weevils have amassed 9,310 points over the Wonder Boys, averaging 69.48 points per game.

The Weevils went 0-2 this past week. On Tuesday, December 9, the Weevils fell to Harding University, 46-70, before falling to Ouachita Baptist on Saturday, December 13, 68-55.

UAM STUDENT CONTEST:  STUDENTS! With conference in action for basketball, you have the opportunity to enter to win the Union Bank $10,000 Full Court Putt Challenge on February 28! At each home game, students can enter once at the women's game and once at the men's game, until halftime of each. (That's two entries per game day) The more games you attend, the more entries you have to be drawn from for your chance at the $10,000 contest! One lucky student will be drawn at the final home game of the season to putt a golf ball 94 feet down the full Steelman Field House basketball court for $10,000, with a regulation putter and ball. BUT, at each home game prior, a student will be chosen to shoot a free throw for $100. This week, it stands at $300 if the shot is made. If that shot is missed, then the money rolls over to the next week. There is a possibility of a $900 free-throw shot, on top of the $10,000 full-court putt, if no one makes it.
