MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello's Men's Basketball team hosted the Bison of Oklahoma Baptist University on Saturday afternoon. The game concluded with a 75-70 loss for the Boll Weevils.
Seth Grandberry led Arkansas-Monticello (4-16, 1-13 GAC) again with 26 points on the afternoon. Grandberry hit 10-19 field goals, 5-11 three-pointers, and 1-1 free throws while grabbing seven rebounds, two steals, and an assist.
Tadarius Jacobs followed close behind in double-digits, posting 16 points of his own. Jacobs was 6-9 on field goals, 1-1 on threes, 3-3 on free throws with two rebounds and a steal.
Alex Brogdon was the final Boll Weevil in double-digits, scoring 13 on the afternoon. Brogdon finished 5-9 on field goals, 1-1 on three-pointers, and 2-3 on free throws with one offensive rebound and five assists.
Oklahoma Baptist (13-7, 10-4 GAC) was led by
JC Curry with 20 points.
Seth Grandberry opened the first half of the game with a layup to give the Weevils an early lead. Both teams saw extensive offensive pushed and three lead changes throughout the period. The teams were sent to the locker room at the buzzer with UAM trailing 28-27.
The second 20-minute period was again a battle throughout its entirety, causing six different lead changes. The Weevils fought hard, but unfortunately, the Bison prevailed in the end taking the match, 75-70.
Arkansas-Monticello committed 10 turnovers in the entirety of the match.

The Weevils return to action on Thursday, February 6, when they travel to Southeastern Oklahoma State University to continue Great American Conference play. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
