MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's basketball team is set for two GAC games this week versus two in-state opponents. The Boll Weevils will start out at home on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m. taking on the Muleriders of Southern Arkansas University, before hitting the road on Saturday, Feb. 15 to take on the Reddies of Henderson State University at 3:00 p.m.

LAST MEETING
Southern Arkansas University - UAM came out of the last meeting falling to SAU, 76-63. Seth Grandberry led Arkansas-Monticello again with 18 points in the game. Grandberry hit 8-21 field goals and 2-8 shots from three-point range while grabbing three rebounds, one assist, and two steals. Tadarius Jacobs was another Boll Weevil with double-digits, scoring 11 on the evening. Jacobs was 4-9 on field goals and 3-5 on three-pointers with two defensive rebounds, one assist, and one steal. Alex Brogdon was the final Weevil in double digits for UAM. Brogdon went 5-7 on field goals while grabbing two rebounds and four assists. Arkansas-Monticello committed 10 turnovers in the entirety of the match.

Henderson State University -  The Reddies barely snuck one by the Boll Weevils, winning the January 2025 meeting, 55-52. Leading Arkansas-Monticello with 19 points in the game was Seth Grandberry. Grandberry hit 8-19 field goals and 3-9 shots from three-point range while grabbing five defensive rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block. Tadarius Jacobs was the other Boll Weevil with double-digits, scoring 10 on the afternoon. Jacobs was 4-7 on field goals, 1-1 from range, and 1-1 on free throws with three defensive rebounds, three steals, two assists, and one block. Arkansas-Monticello committed 22 turnovers in the entirety of the match.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Southern Arkansas University -  The Muleriders hold the record in the overall record, 55-84, which dates back to the first match up in January of 1961, which was a 70-43 win for the Boll Weevils. At home in Monticello, the Weevils hold a 31-34 record, while they are 23-46 on the road. The largest margin of victory for the Weevils came during the first match in 1961. Through 184 games played the Weevils have scored 9,448 points, averaging 67.97 points per game.

Henderson State University -  The Reddies lead UAM with an overall record of 79-55, since the first meeting in December of 1960. The Boll Weevils would take the first game 67-65 in Arkadelphia. Since that game, they have posted 54 more wins with an eight-game win streak between January 14, 2017 - February 8, 2020. Arkansas Monticello is 32-33 at home, with a 23-38 record on the road against Henderson State. The largest margin of victory posted came via a 77-56 win in February of 2008. Overall, the Weevils have posted 9,340 points against the Reddies, averaging 69.7 points in 134 games played.

• UAM went 0-2 for last week, falling to the Savage Storm of Southeastern State University, 71-57, and the Tigers of East Central, 76-66.
