ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's basketball team traveled to Arkadelphia on Saturday to take on the Reddies of Henderson State University. Despite tremendous effort from the offense, the Weevils fell to the Reddies by a final score of 87-62.
Leading Arkansas-Monticello (3-8, 0-5 GAC) with 20 points in the game was
Devin Davis. Davis hit 7-14 field goals, 3-6 shots from three-point range, and 3-4 free throws while grabbing five defensive rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Harouna Sissoko saw 15 points in his performance, going 6-9 on field goals, 2-3 from range, and 1-3 from the line. Sissoko grabbed seven rebounds and two assists.
Tadarius Jacobs was the final Boll Weevil with double-digits, scoring 11 on the afternoon. Jacobs was 4-9 on field goals and 3-4 on free throws with eight defensive rebounds, two blocks, and an assist.
Henderson State (14-10, 10-8 GAC) was led by
Nehikhare Igiehon and
Xavier Owens with 16 points each.
Henderson State held control after the first half, outscoring the Boll Weevils 49 points to 23 in the first 20 minute period. UAM shot for 33.33% in the opening half compared to Henderson State's 56.25%.
The second 20-minute period proved to be a stunner, with UAM edging out HSU 39-38. Unfortunately, the game would conclude with an 87-62 loss for Monticello.
Arkansas-Monticello committed 13
turnovers in the entirety of the match.

The Weevils will return to the court next Thursday, February 20, as they take on Southwestern Oklahoma State University inside Steelman Fieldhouse. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
