MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team will play five games this week when they travel to Delta State University and host Oklahoma Baptist University. The Cotton Blossoms will start on the road Monday, February 17 in a doubleheader with the Lady Statesmen at 12:00 and 4:00 p.m., before returning home to welcome the Bison at the newly named Alvy Early Softball Field at Ryburn Park for the Great American Conference opener and 2025 home opener Friday, February 21 at 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., and Saturday, February 22 at noon. 

Fans will experience a first for the program during the second part of the doubleheader on Friday after a light dedication when the Blossoms take the field under the lights in the team's first night game in program history.

LAST MEETING | ALL-TIME SERIES
Delta State University - Arkansas-Monticello split a pair of games the last time they faced the Lady Statesmen, taking game one, 13-8, then dropping game two, 0-8, in Cleveland, Mississippi. The Blossoms came out swinging in game one, scoring four runs in the first inning. Kennedy Cox drove in the first run on a double to left field. The remaining three runs scored on an error. After the Lady Statesmen scored a run in the bottom of the first, the UAM offense exploded with six in the second. Courtnee Sensibaugh kicked off the rally with a solo home run, followed by another run scored on an error. Sophie Wood drove in four on a grand slam to right to give the Blossoms a 10-1 lead. Delta State saw a home run in the second, but UAM immediately responded in the top of the third with an RBI single from Lexie Smith. The home team would score six runs over the next three innings, bringing the game to 11-8. Arkansas-Monticello saw a double from Smith in the seventh drive in Grace Neal, followed by an RBI from Madison Gardiner, for the final runs of the game. The Blossoms would go on to win the first game of the day 13-8 over the Lady Statesmen and give head coach Kyle Lem his 100th win at the helm of the UAM Softball program. In game two Delta State found two runs in four different innings, while the Blossoms were unable to get one on the board. The game would come to an end in the fifth. | UAM holds a slight lead in the record, 56-54-1, which dates back to the first meeting in February of 1996. The first win for the Blossoms would not come until April of 1999, in a 9-inning 4-3 win, and the only tie in history was in 1997 ending 4-4. Arkansas-Monticello is 31-28-1 at home and 19-24 in Cleveland, Miss. The conference record between both teams, when they played in the Gulf South Conference stands at 27-20. The largest margin of victory stands at 10-0 which happened in March of 2001. Through 111 games the Blossoms have plated 447 with a 4.03 average runs per game.

Oklahoma Baptist University - The Blossoms split a doubleheader with the Bison the last time the two teams met, taking game one 8-3 and dropping game two, 1-3. The Bison scored the first two runs in the first, followed by a third run on a solo home run in the bottom of the third. Grace Neal kicked off the Blossom comeback in the fifth with an RBI double down the left field line, scoring Kennedy Cox. Bailey Camp drove in Jadyn Hart on a double of her own for UAM's second run. Adrianna Erichsen and Lexie Smith each drove in a run to close out the fifth, giving Monticello a 4-3 lead. Kayla Richardson and Camp each scored in the seventh to give UAM a 6-3 advantage. Madison Gardiner drove in the final two runs on a double down the right-field line. | The Bison holds the all-time win record at 15-11, with the record dating back to February 2016. The first win came in the second half of a doubleheader in February of 2016 in Shawnee. The Blossoms are 7-5 at home and 4-10 away. The largest margin for the ladies in green and white came in April of 2021 in a 14-2 win over the Bison. Through 26 games played the Blossoms have scored 90 runs, averaging 3.46 runs per game.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE BLOSSOMS
The Blossoms went 1-3 last week at the Alvy Early Memorial Classic in Bentonville. Taking the first game on Friday, February 7, 9-5, over William Jewell, before dropping their next three games on Friday and Saturday, February 8, 8-0 to the University of Missouri St. Louis (Fri.), 9-0 to Truman State University (Sat.), and 14-10 to Emporia State University (Sat.).
