MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team was back on the field Tuesday in the first non-conference midweek game of the season. The Boll Weevils welcomed the Statesmen of Delta State University to Union Bank Park for a close 9-inning game, which saw Delta State walk away with the win, 2-1.

Delta State put up two runs on the scoreboard in the top of the seventh, off a homer and a double to center. The runs would be enough to take the game, 2-1.

Vincent Segovia started on the mound for the Weevils, in his 3.0 innings of work he recorded four strikeouts and one hit.

Trey Miller pitched the next 2.1 innings recording three strikeouts.

John White came into the game and pitched for 1.2 innings, with three strikeouts and two runs on two hits.

Lane Imhoff was next for UAM, pitching 1.0 innings he faced three batters.

Kyle Roop was the last Weevil on the mound pitching 1.0 innings with two strikeouts.

After today's game, the Boll Weevils will head into the second weekend of conference play, 8-2, 3-0 GAC.
