MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's basketball team is prepping to welcome the Bulldogs of Southwestern Oklahoma State University and Rangers of Northwestern Oklahoma State University to Steelman Fieldhouse. The dates for this week's meetings have changed due to forecasted inclement weather, with the Weevils taking on the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, February 21, and the Rangers on Sunday, February 23 at 3:00 p.m.

LAST MEETING
Southwestern Oklahoma State University - The Bulldogs upset the Boll Weevils taking the last meeting, 63-71. Leading Arkansas-Monticello with 26 points in the game was Seth Grandberry. Grandberry hit 10-21 field goals and 5-13 shots from three-point range while grabbing four defensive rebounds, and two assists. Jamir Turner was the other Boll Weevil with double-digits, scoring 14 on the afternoon. Turner was 5-10 on field goals and 4-5 on free throws with 10 rebounds, and one assist. Arkansas-Monticello committed 10 turnovers in the entirety of the match.

Northwestern Oklahoma State University - The Weevils fell to the Rangers in January, 68-73. Leading Arkansas-Monticello with a season-high 30 points in the game was Seth Grandberry. Grandberry hit 10-20 field goals, 4-8 shots from three-point range, and 6-10 free throws while grabbing nine rebounds, five assists, one block, and four steals. He was the first Weevil to score 30 or more in a game since Zane Nelson when he posted 36 against Arkansas Tech in the 2023-24 season. Arkansas-Monticello committed 17 turnovers in the entirety of the match.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Southwestern Oklahoma State University - The Weevils and Bulldogs are currently tied with an overall record of, 14-14. This record dates back to the first meeting in November of 1987. The first meeting was a 59-79 loss in a neutral sight game. The first GAC match would be held in Monticello on January 1, 2012, and be a winner for the Weevils, 86-82. The Boll Weevils and Bulldogs are evenly matched both at home and away, 7-5. The longest comprised win streak stands at 7, which started in December 2016 and busted in January 2020. The highest margin of victory came via a 101-70 win in Monticello on February 4, 2017. Through 28 games played the Weevils have scored 2,041 points, averaging 72.89 per game.

Northwestern Oklahoma State University - The Rangers of NWOSU hold a two-game lead over the Weevils, 11-13, dating back to the first meeting in December of 2012. Since then UAM has compiled a 6-5 home record and a 4-7 away record against the Rangers. The longest win streak for the Boll Weevils sits at five, which was completed between March 2018 and January 2020. The two teams have only met once outside of Monticello and Alva, competing in the first round of the GAC Tournament in Batesville, Oklahoma, where the Weevils knocked the Rangers out of postseason play with a 68-58 win. Through 24 games played UAM has recorded 1,708 points off NWOSU, averaging 71.7 points per game.

LAST TIME OUT FOR UAM

• UAM went 0-2 for last week, falling to the Muleriders of Southern Arkansas University, 77-74, on Thursday, Feb. 13, and the Reddies of Henderson State University, 87-62, on Saturday, Feb. 15.
