ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team traveled to Henderson State University on Friday to take on the Reddies in the opening game of their GAC series. The Weevils came out with a 12-2 loss.

Scoring Recap:
The Reddie offense was the sole performer throughout the first six innings of the ball game, building a 9-0 lead over the Boll Weevils.

UAM found a run in both the seventh and eighth innings, with Cade Cancilla driving in the first on a double to right center and Chase Cripps scoring the second on a double to right center of his own.

HSU scored three runs in the bottom half of the eighth to complete the 10-run run-rule. 

Pitching Performances
- Connor Irvine started on the mound and took the loss, tossing 4.0 innings with three earned runs allowed on eight hits. He also had two strikeouts.
- Trey Miller saw 1.0 inning, allowing a run on two hits.
- Ruben Macias threw an inning, seeing three runs scored on two hits with a strikeout
- Nathan McManus had 1.0 inning of work, allowing 0 runs on two hits. He had two strikeouts.
- Ethan Gardner closed the final 0.1 inning, seeing two earned runs scored on two hits. He had a strikeout.

Offensive Showcase
- Cade Cancilla - 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a walk
- Chaz Poppy - 1-for-3 with a walk

Arkansas-Monticello will finish the series with the Reddies tomorrow Saturday, March 1 in a doubleheader at Clyde Berry Field. First pitch is set for 1:00.
