ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Arkansas-Monticello Boll Weevils basketball team's 2024-25 season came to a close Saturday afternoon with an 85-56 loss to the Tigers of Ouachita Baptist University.
Seth Grandberry led Arkansas-Monticello (4-24, 1-21 GAC) with 16 points in the game. Grandberry hit 6-18 field goals and 4-10 three-pointers while grabbing two rebounds and a steal.
Devin Davis was the other Weevil in double-digits, scoring 10 points of his own. Davis was 5-12 on field goals with five rebounds and an assist.
Ouachita Baptist (21-7, 16-6 GAC) was led by
Shaun Williams with 22 points.
The first half of the game was won by the Tigers, as the Ouachita offense proved much more efficient in the opening 20 minutes. The Tigers were 17-32 (53.1%) on shots in the half, compared to Monticello's 8-28 (28.6%). The teams would head to the locker room with UAM trailing 45-25.
The second 20-minute period proved to be won by Ouachita Baptist, as they outscored UAM 40-31. The Tigers increased their lead to a game-high 37 points and would hold the lead for the remainder of the game, eventually taking a 85-56 win over Monticello.
Arkansas-Monticello committed 12 turnovers in the entirety of the match.
